How This Works

The Configuration

There are two Databases powering this template—the and .

Every page in the Random Pages database is related to a single page in the Random Index. The latter Database has an inline button (presented as a property in the gallery above) which opens a random connected page in center view.

You can add new pages to the Random Index and relate them to any number of pages in Random Pages if you would like to setup additional page collections to randomly open.

Limitations

  1. This Template is powered by a random seed generator in the Random Index database, but that seed only changes when the page is refreshed. Furthermore, if the page is refreshed quickly back to back, Notion will cache the original seed.
  2. The random page buttons only work as inline button properties. It is, right now, not possible to configure a Button block to perform this action.

Using this Template

The two Databases powering this template are collected in Resources below. You may relocate them as needed, but do not delete or modify the button property or the two formula properties. (Marked with an X)
